How To Create An Awesome Facebook Profile Photo In Less Than 5 Minutes?

Recently, facebook launched the new profile page design with lots of great features and very useful. The profile begins with a quick overview of basic information such as where you’re from, where you went to school, and where you work—the kinds of conversation starters you share with people you’ve just met or exchange with old friends as you get reacquainted.

The new profile page is now having 6 photos which you can showcase about yourself and here I will tell you how to create a better use of all these photos to make an awesome profile page with an awesome profile photo.

Note: If you do not have the new profile page, please go to this link and get it activated for your account: http://www.facebook.com/about/profile/

Now, Let’s begin:

First let me show of the final outcome, so that you can get the idea of what we are building. See the screenshot of my profile page below. Yes, you can easily create your own profile page like this in less than 5 minutes.

Awesome Profile Photo

You need a photo, which is atleast 700×540 pixels. If you have a bigger photograph, it will be better too.
Now you need to create 9 pieces of your photograph in such a manner that each piece will fit in the area of your profile page as show above in the screenshot. You do not need to create these pieces by own or you do not need to learn Photoshop. There is an awesome online free tool which does this in seconds.

Step 1: Create photo’s 9 pieces as per new profile page design

  • Go to http://picscatter.com/
  • Upload your photo and set its area which you want to display.
  • You can also zoom your photo.
  • Final step is to download photo files provided in a zipped package.

See the screenshot below:

Pic Scatter Settings

Step 2: Upload to facebook and setup

  • In the downloaded zip package, you will get the 9 different pieces of your photo. Upload all those photos to facebook. 8 photos from the package will be named as:
    • a_pic_0
    • a_pic_1,
    • a_pic_2,
    • … ,
    • a_pic_8

and one will be named as main_pic

  • Tag yourself in picture 4 to 8 beginning with the last one.
For example: tag a_pic_8 and then followed by a_pic_7, a_pic_6, a_pic_5 and last a_pic_4
  • Make the main_pic as new profile picture.

Hope you like it and please share your profile links or screen shot once you finish implementing. Let me know if you need my help :)
